Estimator - Electrical ConstructionJOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/ObjectiveThe estimator is responsible for bidding work as scheduled by the Operations Manager. The estimator will prepare cost estimates for electrical projects, create proposals, communicate with clients, vendors, engineers, architects, and subcontractors, determine scope of work, review design options and provide value engineering.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Plan, organize, and implement an estimating department.Bid projects with enough detail to provide accurate budgets and purchase orders.Help create the project plan.Responsible for computerized estimating system, database, labor factors, and updates.Work with the project managers regarding bid document requirements.Track and analyze competition and market pricing.Assist the project managers with large change orders.Work with architects and engineers to provide pre-bid services.

Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to the owner's on-going operations and consideration must be exercised so as to not negatively impact these operations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to walk the construction site and wear company provided PPE. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time exempt position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with a one-hour lunch break; 40 hours per week.
