ABC Award in 3D Design (CAD FOR INTERIOR DESIGN)
Duration: 5 Saturdays, commencing 9th October 2004 10am-4pm
22nd January 2005 10am-4pm
Course fee: £80 plus £30 registration (to be confirmed)
This award introduces the concepts and practice of using computer aided
design (VectorWorks) in interior design and architectural practice It
introduces and develops the main principles of using CAD, both as a 2D
drafting tool and as a dynamic 3D design tool, which enables designers to
develop and explore ideas and design proposals. It presumes a general
level of IT literacy and a familiarity with 3D design language and
practice.
The unit is project based, and enables students to gain confidence through
the development of a set of core skills and principles, which they are
then encouraged to relate to their own practice. The course uses specific
CAD software, but establishes the use of CAD within a broader range of
digital design, rendering and presentation software.
· Drawing environment, menus, palettes
· 2D CAD drawing, layers and symbols
· 3D design drawing, projection and perspective views
· Drawing layout and presentation
