GeoEngineers, Inc.Staff Civil Engineer 3 in Springfield, Missouri Duties: Perform civil engineering in connection with the design and execution of multiple concurrent trenchless pipeline installation projects. Specific technical duties include monitoring subsurface exploration and trenchless construction projects; documenting field conditions and preparing field reports; interpreting and performing technical analysis of sub-surface data; providing daily field reports of the Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) construction process and documenting the application of drilling tools and fluids; preparing HDD drawings and preliminary HDD designs; writing technical reports and coordinating full report production activities, generating design calculations and engineering design reports; and researching relevant technical literature and historical information. Participate in multiple concurrent project management activities, such as project budgeting, proposal writing, client liaison, and invoice review. May be assigned training responsibilities. Duties will require travel up to 50% of the time. Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, Engineering Designer, Research Assistant, Lecturer or another civil engineering occupation. Experience must include: 6 months performing HDD design work, including geometric design, installation load calculations, pipe stress analysis, and hydraulic fracture analysis using the cavity expansion model.6 months evaluating HDD construction methods, including application of drilling equipment, tools and fluids.6 months monitoring civil construction fieldwork, including verifying compliance of construction means and methods in accordance with project plans and specifications. All education, training and experience may be gained concurrently.
