Job Description

Engine Performance and Emissions Calibration Engineer (Detroit, MI) Design, development, validation of software algorithms for heavy-duty and medium-duty diesel engines controls to fulfill performance, fuel economy and emissions targets. Lead small cross-functional team of engineers to ensure all requirements for components, OBD (On Board Diagnostics) and emissions are met. Bachelor's Degree in Mech Eng, Electrical Eng. Must have exp or edu in Diesel Engine operation, heavy-duty diesel engine exhaust emissions testing procedures, instrumentations, and related federal regulations (EPA emissions standards, Green-House Gas Emissions standards for medium-duty and heavy-duty engines), diesel engine thermodynamic parameters calibration (EGR, SOI) and knowledge of their effect on engine emissions, engine and diesel exhaust aftertreatment modeling, engine "in-use" emission measurement, Fluid ability for use of standard control architecture tools, such as Matlab & Simulink, and knowledge of OBD monitors development.
